At this year’s Summer Institute, Acharya Lama Tenpa Gyaltsen will be leading
Community Meditation, Mahamudra shamatha and Mahamudra vipashyana.

Acharya Lama Tenpa Gyaltsen
Acharya Lama Tenpa Gyaltsen studied together with Dzogchen Ponlop Rinpoche at Karma Shri Nalanda Institute at Rumtek under some of the greatest living masters in the Kagyü lineage. He is known for his profound instructions on analytical meditation and wonderful sense of humor. Lama Tenpa always provides everyday life examples, which make even advanced teachings accessible to western students.
Community Meditation (open to all Summer Institute students)
Acharya Lama Tenpa Gyaltsen will lead meditation sessions during sessions 1, 2 and 3. These are open to all students who are registered for the Summer Institute.

Mahamudra Shamatha
Mahamudra Shamatha will be held every other day. These sessions are only open to students who meet the following prerequisites.
Prerequisites:
- you have previously taken Mahamudra shamatha at Nitartha’s Summer Institute; or
- you are a Nalandabodhi student who is following the Nalandabodhi Mahamudra shamatha curriculum or has completed it; or
- you have attended a Mahamudra program in which Mahamudra shamatha was taught and practiced; or
- you have completed a three-year retreat

Nalandabodhi Students, this course does not count towards completion of any part of the Nalandabodhi curriculum.
Mahamudra Vipashyana
Mahamudra vipashyana will also be held every other day, alternating with Mahamudra shamatha. This is only open to students who meet the following prerequisites.
Prerequisites:
- you have completed Nitartha’s Mahamudra shamatha course (two Summer Institute sessions); or
- you are a Nalandabodhi student and have completed the Nalandabodhi Mahamudra Shamatha curriculum; or
- you have attended a Mahamudra program in which both Mahamudra shamatha and Mahamudra vipashyana were taught and practiced; or
- you have completed a three-year retreat
