Accommodations at Western Washington University in Bellingham require either a Meal Plan or a Viking Dining Dollars card. Students will need to sign up for one of these directly via the Western Washington University website. After you have registered to attend Nitartha Summer Institute, you will receive a link to choose a Meal Plan at a later date.
Meal Plans can include breakfast, lunch and/or dinner and range from $12–$37 per day. For example, a Meal Plan for 2 weeks will be $138 for lunch only, $325 for lunch and dinner and $467 for breakfast, lunch and dinner. As an alternative to purchasing a Meal Plan, Viking Dining Dollars cards are available (minimum amount $20). These cards can be used at coffee shops and the marketplace on campus, Monday-Friday, 7:30am–2:00pm.
Please note that although purchase of a Meal Plan is optional, kitchen facilities are very limited in the dorms. No pots, pans or utensils are provided and there is no food storage (including no refrigerators) for student use. Meal Plans do not include meals on days off (7/16, 7/21, 7/26); participants are invited to explore food options in Bellingham and New Haven on these days. Unused meals and dining dollars are non-refundable.
